Serving: 28 Beignets
 
 
Recipe:
 
3 cups of flower
1+ ½ cups warm water (not too hot)
½ cup of sugar (add to your preference)
1 sachet of yeast or 2 + ¼ tea spoon active dry yeast
1 tea spoon of (salt add to your preference)
 
Facultative flavors:
 
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
 
Directions:
 
Add yeast to warm water and mix well
Add salt + sugar to yeast and mix well
Add facultative flavors (not required)
Pour yeast mixture into flower in a separate bowl
Whisk or mix for about 10 minutes
Cover bowl with aluminum foil
Let sit for at least 3 hours (in slightly preheated oven (~1min) or warm space)
Once mixture is risen, it is ready to fry.
 
Helpful Tips!
 
Add water gradually to the mixture until desired consistency.  Otherwise, the mixture will not rise.
 
Oven can be preheated for ~2 min (do not leave oven on) and mixture can be allowed to rise in oven.
Or just keep mixture in warm area.
 
Do not overheat your oil or frying. This will allow the inside of the baked goods to cook well.
 
Preheat on 8 for 8 minutes
Bring it down to medium (6) when ready to fry
Enjoy your meal!
 
This measurement gave me roughly 28 beignets or Puff Puff.
