When I first sat down on the manual ab crunch machine, I was terrified.

Not because I didn’t know what it was
But because I knew exactly what it would expose.

Motherhood, my core, wasn’t just weak.
It felt disconnected. Unreliable. Humbling.

And let me be clear, there are easier ab machines.
Those who assist the movement.
Ones that protect you from feeling how weak your core really is.
I tried them all.

But this one
This one is manual.
No assistance.
No hiding.

And something in me said
If someone else can do this, so can I.

That was the mindset shift.

Because here’s the truth
I wouldn’t take the easy route with my money.
So why would I take it with my body?

At the beginning, I couldn’t even do 7 reps.
Adding Five pounds felt traumatic.
Humbling in a way only postpartum women understand.

Fast forward two months.

Now I’m doing 10 reps with added weight.
Minimum 10 pounds.
Controlled. Intentional.

And the lesson wasn’t just physical.

Progress Requires Reality, Not Ego

Here’s where most people go wrong in fitness and finances.

They don’t track.
They guess.
They lie to themselves.

And then they wonder why nothing changes.

I don’t do that.

I track my reps.
I track my weight.
I track my finances the same way.

Because tracking doesn’t judge you.
It tells you the truth.

And truth gives you power.

If the numbers aren’t moving, you don’t panic.
You pivot.

If, after consistent effort, something still isn’t working,
You don’t quit.
You adjust the strategy.

That’s not failure.
That’s intelligence.

Belief Matters, But Data Matters More

Believing in yourself is critical.
But believing without evidence is delusion.

I don’t want confidence built on vibes.
I want confidence built on proof.

And today
This exercise is my proof.

That the core can be rebuilt.
That postpartum isn’t permanent.
That strength compounds just like money.

So if you’re watching this and you’re at the beginning, weak, scared, embarrassed, doubting yourself

Start anyway.

Track it.
Face the reality.
Respect the process.

Because the lioness doesn’t avoid difficulty.
